KO DOK MAI

Phuket

Ko Dok Mai is a sure dive site to be visited on the way from Phuket over to the area of the King Cruiser Wreck and Anemone Reef. The island itself is an impressive steep rock protruding from the water surface and under water this steep cliff face continues its way down to the bottom of the ocean. The largest part of the dive is thus a wall dive.

Along the way a cave invites divers for some overhead environment exploration and it helps to bring a torch. Not because the cave is so dark but to help you see the cave walls behind the 20 other scuba divers entering it before you. Just at the right corner outside of the cave is the daytime resting place of a nurse shark in a crevice. The 5m surface interval at end of the dive can be spent at an area less steep with a good opportunity to greet the clownfish in their anemones.
