ELEPHANT HEAD PINNACLE
Ko Similan
Elephant Head Pinnacle is a submerged dive site just a short distance away from its better known brother, Elephant Head Rock. Although not as large and spacious as other Similan dive sites, this one here surprises with a variety of characters. Swim throughs and overhangs host an unusual abundance of marine life, like lobsters, butterflyfish and angelfish as well as the occasional giant sea fan.
Highlight on the way to the ascent is definitely the solid blanket of red soft corals covering the upper half of the pinnacle with lots of lion fish blending in. Look out for all the spaces in between the soft coral for a multitude of nudibranchs and flatworms.
