SOUTHWEST PINNACLE

Ko Tao

Everything at the Southwest Pinnacle is a bit bigger than at the other Ko Tao dive sites. The pinnacle actually feels more like a small mountain with large parts of the rock face being exposed. Anemones are a very dominant species of marine life covering these rock faces and at the top sides they almost blanket the pinnacle entirely.

The visibility usually drops at the areas towards the bottom so it is probably a good idea to visit these just shortly and extend the dive’s overall time at shallower depths. Surprisingly enough, this dive site “feels” a bit like Anemone Reef between Phuket and Ko Phi Phi over on the Andaman side.
